Daylight Savings Time

American Power and Gas has launched a Change.org petition calling for an end to Daylight Saving Time.  The company said such a move would reduce energy consumption, lowering both carbon emissions and energy costs for consumers.  "We believe that Daylight Saving Time is an outdated practice that actually increases energy consumption," AP&G Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations Andrea d'Agostini said. "By signing this petition you are helping us raise this issue to lawmakers and ultimately save energy."
The company cites research from Indiana, which adopted DST in 2006, as showing the change increased electricity consumption by 1% overall and by between 2-4% in the summer and fall.
